ZOGS END REGULAR SEASON IN VICTORIOUS FASHION

PORTLAND, ME - The ZOGS finished their regular season with a 7-4 trashing of potential playoff opponent TEC Associates.  Forward Rob Carrier highlighted the scoring with three goals and two assists.  Greg Perry netted the game winner with his first of two goals on the night and also added three assists.  Certainly the best goal of the game was when Nick Gordon received a feed up the boards from Carrier and Perry and drove hard to the net.  As he slid the puck by the goalie, Gordon vaulted himself through the air Bobby Orr style to avoid running into the goalie's stick.

This victory gave the ZOGS their best record in franchise history with 14 wins and 6 losses.  They were also fortunate to have four of the top six scorers in the league this season and five of the top ten.  Rob Carrier (41 pts.) and James Gilbert (40 pts.) finished #1 and #2 in the league with Nick Gordon (35 pts.) at #5 and Andrew Bradford (34 pts.) at #6.  Greg Perry rounded out the ZOGS placement in the top ten with 27 pts.

By finishing in second place overall, the ZOGS earned a bye until the Semifinals of the playoffs.  Their opponent will be determined this Wednesday night.  The Semifinal games are to be played Thursday and Friday nights at 10:10 and 9:30 PM respectively.  If the ZOGS win both games or win and tie, they would then play in the Championship game next Tuesday night at 9:00 PM.  All games are to be played at Portland Ice Arena.  All fans are encouraged to support the team as they try for their most important three game winning streak of the season.  LET'S GO ZOGS!!!
