ZOGS WINNING STREAK HITS SIX IN A ROW

PORTLAND, ME - The ZOGS have put together a franchise best six game winning streak by playing hockey like the St. Louis Rams play football.  Offense, Offense, Offense.  Their latest victims, the Tradesmen, fell to the ZOGS 8-3 last Tuesday night.  Since their first and, thus far, only loss in the second week of the season, the ZOGS have outscored their opponents by almost a two to one margin, 37-19.  Nearly every member of the team is taking part in the offensive onslaught.  Leading the charge this week was Nick Gordon, who tallied three goals and one assist.  James Gilbert added to his team leading goals scored (10) with a hat trick.  Rob Carrier continued his generosity with three assists, while Andrew Bradford and Kevin Coyne rounded out the scoring.  After giving up a goal ten seconds into the game, netminder Tim Dominick rebounded to play solidly, and hold the Tradesmen scoreless until the final two minutes of the game.  With two games to go until the midpoint of the season, the ZOGS obviously have their offense firing on all cylinders, and the defense is starting to play as expected. Traditionally, from Thanksgiving to New Years is the ZOGS most successful portion of the season.  Which begs the question, how much better can this team become?

TRANSACTIONS:  RW Greg Perry has been reinstated from his one game suspension.

NEWS OF NOTE:  The current ZOGS winning streak is the longest in team history. . . With 44 goals thus far this year, the ZOGS are on pace to set a franchise record for goals scored set previously last year and be the first team in league history to score triple digits in goals.
