ZOGS LOSING STREAK ENDS WITH VICTORY OVER DEFENDING CHAMPIONS

PORTLAND, ME - The longest losing streak of the year for the ZOGS finally ended last Tuesday night with a win over Freightliner, 7-3.  Offensively, this game was an explosion compared to the previous three, which saw the ZOGS score only 9 goals while surrendering 18.  The ZOGS defense played solid against a relentless attack despite being without their best defenseman, Bill Reynolds, who is out with a broken ankle.  Goalie Tim Dominick rebounded from his three game slump to earn his first career victory against the perennial league champions.  Leading the offensive charge for the ZOGS was Andrew Bradford with a hat trick and one assist and James Gilbert (2-G, 2-A).  The ZOGS next game is this Tuesday night against Play It Again.  The winner of that game is guaranteed a second place finish for the season.

NEWS OF NOTE:  Defenseman Bill Reynolds sustained a broken ankle in the ZOGS loss to Tradesmen.  He will be out 4-6 weeks and is questionable for the playoffs.  Please wish him well for a speedy recovery.
